Structured Cabling Technician   

$10-$15/hour

Pay varies with experience

 

Required

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years in related field (low voltage cabling)
  • Excellent communication skills, both with customers and internally
  • High level of organization and record keeping skills
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Attention to detail with ability to deliver consistent high quality work
  • Must be able to climb ladders, lift 50lbs, and work with hand tools
  • Motivated, eager to learn, and able to perform with minimal supervision
  • Travel <10%
  • 7:00AM-3:30PM with OT as required to complete jobs to meet customer timeline
  • Licensed driver with clean driving record and proof of insurance
  • Must pass background check and drug screening

 

Preferred

  • 1-2 years installing, testing, and troubleshooting telecommunications wiring
    • Cat3, 5, 5e, 6, 6a, Fiber optic, Audio/Video, CCTV cabling
  • Knowledge of TIA/EIA specifications and BICISI standards
  • Own telecommunication tools

 

Technician is responsible for installing all types of low voltage cabling, including: data and phone networks, Audio/Video cabling, and CCTV cabling.


Technician will take lead from a project foreman on large jobs but will also manage smaller projects independently.

 

Technicians will install A/V, data equipment, and phone equipment.

 




Structured Cabling Foreman

$15-$20/hour

Required

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5+ years experience in low voltage cable installation
  • Excellent communication skills, both with customers and internally
  • High level of organization and record keeping skills
  • Attention to detail with ability to deliver consistent high quality work
  • Must be able to climb ladders, lift 50lbs, and work with hand tools
  • Ability to lead, manage, and mentor field crews of up to 6 people
  • Ability to  terminate 66blocks, 110blocks, coax, multi-strand fiber, patch panels
  • Ability to interpret field drawings, determine requirements, and install to standards
  • Proficient with MS word and Excel
  • Travel <10%
  • 7:00AM-3:30PM with OT as required to complete jobs to meet customer timeline
  • Licensed driver with clean driving record and proof of insurance
  • Must pass background check and drug screening

 

Preferred

  • 3+ years as lead technician/foreman installing, testing, and troubleshooting telecommunications wiring Cat3, 5, 5e, 6, 6a, Fiber optic, Audio/Video, CCTV cabling
  • Telecom experience (PBX, VoIP, etc.)
  • Data networks (installing switches, routers, APs, etc.)
  • BICISI certified technician
  • Own telecommunication tools

 

Foreman is responsible for installing all types of low voltage cabling, including: data and phone networks, Audio/Video cabling, and CCTV cabling.

 

Foreman is responsible for all phases of job completion.  This includes managing inventory of project materials, laying out job from prints, meeting with customers, performing work on site, managing employees on site, testing work, obtaining customers signoff, and providing job documentation.

 

This position is for a “hands on” foreman as all foreman are expected to be able to complete and help assist with all phases of job completion.

 

Foreman must keep detailed logs of jobs including, hours, materials, deviations from scope, and any issues that arise with resolutions.
